PREVENTION OF TICKBORNE INFECTIONS

Tickborne infectious diseases in the United States include those caused by bacteria (eg, Lyme disease, tularemia, relapsing fever), rickettsia (eg, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, ehrlichiosis), viruses (eg, Colorado tick fever), and protozoa (eg, babesiosis) (see also disease-specific chapters in Section 3).
