Babesiosis

Babesiosis. A Giemsa stain of a blood film from an infected human used to identify the parasite Babesia microti. Babesiosis is caused by hemo-protozoan parasites of the genus Babesia. While more than 100 species have been reported, Babesia microti and Babesia divergens have been identified in most human cases.
