Chlamydial Infections, Chlamydia trachomatis. This photomicrograph depicts HeLa cells infected with Type-A Chlamydia trachomatis, Magnified 400X. The cell line of choice is McCoy, however a particular strain of HeLa cells, i.e. HeLa 299-24, can be used to culture C trachomatis. For identification, either iodine or fluorescent antibody (FA) stains are usually used.
